The Reluctant Messenger Book Version of the website Now Available
Subject: Announcement: Book Version of the Website.
Body of Message:
On 3/6/03 - I authorized the publisher to move the book into production.
I electronically submitted the manuscript for the novel version of The Reluctant Messenger of Science and Religion on (1/13/2003) Today the book can actually be ordered.
The book is a little over 90,000 words in length. It's 316 pages long. The price is $27.95 for the hard cover version and $17.95 for the soft cover.
The book has three stories, Chester and Lydia are the two main characters and each has a separate story. There is a third story that concerns their best friends. A lot of material that is not on the website is in the book.
I originally thought I would have to have a bonus section to properly represent the views of the website. After an extensive rewrite, all of the important points were covered without the need for a bonus section.
The back cover will read something like this:
Never before has a book solved so many religious mysteries.
Science teaches the Theory of Evolution, Genesis describes Creation. Christianity, Judaism and Sufism teach a resurrection. Hinduism Buddhism and Sikhism teach reincarnation. This book resolves both of these paradoxes.
Chester and Lydia meet in a debate. One wins and one loses, but neither are ever the same. Lydia discovers a secret about her past that is so shocking it destroys her family. She tries to ignore her discovery but her nightmares won’t let her. Chester's greed for gold and revenge lead him to discover an ancient knowledge the powers of darkness are determined to suppress. The last time the information came to light, thousands died. But somehow he must safely reveal it to the world.
It’s one of the most inspirational stories I have ever read! Honest! Clint – long-term fan of The Reluctant Messenger website.
The inside jacket for the hard cover will read like this:
Are the Theory of Evolution and the Genesis Account of Creation mutually exclusive? Simple genealogical math gives us fewer than 6,000 years since God created Adam and Eve as described in Genesis. Science claims the fossil records go back 3.6 billion years. Is this paradox resolvable? Why do we have so many religions? Three religions, Hinduism, Sikhism and Buddhism believe in reincarnation. Three other religions, Judaism, Christianity and Sufism believe in a resurrection. How can they both be right? The reason we can't reconcile the theory of evolution with the Genesis account of creation or the apparent contradiction of reincarnation and a resurrection is because of one simple yet key piece of information. This book provides it.
I received the editor's review from my publisher on 1/26/03. It came back better than I expected and even better than I had hoped. At the end of this message I am quoting the editors comments.
Collectors Edition
There have been quite a few requests for more information on how the collectors edition can be ordered. Here are the details.
1) Each hard cover collectors edition will be signed by the authors, stamped, and stamped on the inside page with blue ink (Limited Collector's Edition). A certificate of authentication will also accompany each book.
2)I am taking orders for the hard cover edition now.
3) The cost will be $39.90 price $5.00 shipping. If ordered by the end of the week free shipping. I have to pay to have the books shipped to me and then pay for shipping them to you after I sign them. The shipping will reflect the minimum cost for both to and from. (Free shipping extended to Monday)
5) Initial feedback form the publisher is that this book has a chance to do very well. This gives you an opportunity to buy a true collectors edition. Marlo
Morgan's first edition signed copy self-published book "Mutant Message Down Under" goes for around $400 now. It was first printed in 1991.
6) I'm signing a non-exclusive contract with my publisher. If the Reluctant Mesenger of Science and Religion gets picked up by a mass market publisher, your collector's edition hard cover could really appreciate in value.
7) Now here is the editors review. The original format was in Word. This is a copy and paste so the formatting was lost. The publishers rates books on a scale of 25 to 50. My book scored a 50.
